BUPA Chooses Equifax to Develop UK Customer & Prospects Database

Leading credit information expert, Equifax has won a major contract with BUPA, the UK’s leading independent health and care organisation. Under the new contract, Equifax UK Marketing Services will be providing BUPA with a business-to-business database management solution. This is part of BUPA’s ongoing investment in its systems and processes to maintain effective business relations with new and existing customers.

BUPA was formed more than 50 years ago and in that time has developed a wide range of business schemes and services to stand alongside its core private medical insurance services. BUPA is also the UK’s largest operator of care homes and retirement accommodation. This means it is essential that BUPA has an effective database of consistent and accurate customer information for both the sales and marketing team to access.

Equifax delivered a solution to update the database, ensuring BUPA Marketing and Actuarial analysts have accurate information on which to report on segmentation, conversion rates, or to produce mailing lists for marketing campaigns. Furthermore, because the system is constantly updated, BUPA will be able to allow business customers to request quotes over the web to gain access to accurate prices.

Ian McKinnon, Managing Director of Consumer Information Services for Equifax comments, “We are working with BUPA to enhance and develop BUPA’s existing systems, using the wealth of information held on Equifax’s comprehensive marketing and demographic databases. BUPA has a wide range of services, which means we had to be able to deliver a fast, efficient and flexible solution that would fit seamlessly into its business requirements. The new system has enhanced BUPA’s own database, creating a single, consistent and accurate data set for use in relation to business to business distribution channels.

“Equifax will be providing regular updates by adding new records or updating existing ones to reflect any changes in the business data. This will ensure that all business to business sales are based on up to date information, allowing accurate market analysis by Actuarial and Marketing analysts,” said McKinnon.

Chris Bromilow, Head of Company Sales of BUPA, “We chose to work with Equifax because of the level of flexibility its services offered our business. The Equifax team took the time to understand our business and developed a system that provides our sales advisors with a new level of access to accurate and up to date information, enhancing the business across all the different distribution channels. We look forward to working closely with Equifax as we build on this success by developing new ways to strengthen our existing customer relations and build new ones.”
