EQUIFAX HELPS ORGANISATIONS FIGHT FRAUD
WITH A DEDICATED FRAUD TEAM

In an effort to crackdown on the growing threat of fraud and money laundering, Equifax, a leading consumer and commercial information company, has expanded its dedicated fraud team, headed by industry expert Neil Lewis to include two new members. By identifying the key growth areas of fraud that are causing the biggest problems for the industry, Equifax has created an entry point for Equifax Fraud Services to assist its customers. The expansion of this team supports Equifax’s ongoing development of its extensive range of identity solutions and provides an invaluable source of expertise and advice for businesses and Government.

Neil Lewis, Head of Equifax Fraud Services, comments, “The fraud team has been developed to provide essential advice to the financial services industry, as well as to the Government. We have a team of dedicated industry experts and their key focus is to work with organisations to find the most appropriate identity verification solutions for their particular needs.

“Through detailed research and analysis of our vast database of information and constant liaison with our customers, Equifax has managed to identify the main areas of concern for organisations today, which include identity theft, false identity, empty house fraud, account take over and money laundering. Whether it is concerning identity checks on consumers or businesses, Equifax can provide a comprehensive and flexible range of solutions.

“The team works in liaison with major banks, building societies, insurance and utilities providers and Government departments to develop and expand the effectiveness of their fight against the growing range of fraud and ensure we are meeting their changing needs.”

The types of fraud challenging the industry are so wide ranging that Equifax has developed a range of flexible solutions that can meet a variety of business needs. The Equifax range of products and services covers identity verification of both consumers and business and include FraudScan, eIDverifier, ID Plus, Protect, Company Essentials and re-verification services.

Lewis concludes, “Equifax already has a strong position in the fight against fraud and the expansion of Equifax Fraud Services team is further illustration of its commitment to helping businesses find a cost-effective, reliable and flexible solution to fraud.”
