EQUIFAX EUROPE APPOINTS NEW CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Equifax has recently announced the appointment of Mark Breese as Chief Information Officer with full responsibility for Equifax’s Information Technology service and strategy throughout its European operations. With over 25 years experience in technology, Mark will oversee the IT function within Equifax where he will be responsible for developing and implementing the systems strategy for Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Mark began his career as a computer operator and programmer before moving into project management in the financial services sector. He set up his own IT management consulting business in 1989, providing advice to start-up companies to facilitate their transition to new systems. Over ten years, Mark worked with a range of businesses in the telecommunications and financial services sectors, creating new IT organisations, developing and implementing IT plans and integrating systems.

In 1997, Mark moved to London from the US, working in senior technology positions for Level 3 Communications before setting up a technical management consultancy, based in Devon.

Michael Shannon, Managing Director, Equifax Ltd comments: “The delivery of operational excellence is a key focus for Equifax in 2003 and beyond. I am confident that the appointment of Mark will ensure that we achieve our objective to provide first-rate IT services to our customers, as well as support the internal IT function within Equifax Europe.”
