EQUIFAX DATA IS FIRST CHOICE FOR CREDITGATE.COM
Equifax Commercial Data Now Available Via SMS
London, 5th November, 2004 – Equifax plc has forged a partnership with creditgate.com, a new online business credit and information provider. Through the new agreement, creditgate.com will benefit from the power of Equifax’s commercial data, helping it establish a strong entry into the SME market. The agreement also sees Equifax commercial credit information available via SMS for the first time.
Michael Shannon, managing director, Equifax comments, “At Equifax, we have a deep understanding of the pressures facing businesses today. We are, therefore, particularly excited by the use of SMS technology to deliver our commercial credit information to SMEs”.
“Creditgate.com leverages the power of Equifax information to bring its customers the most current and valuable data to their desktop and mobile phones. Armed with this information, creditgate.com customers are empowered to make informed business decisions whether they are in the office or on the road.”
Creditgate.com provides businesses with instant access to a range of services, including online reports, a trade account facility and a fully automated online account management and billing system. It is the only company in the UK offering instant SMS access to credit and director information. This means businesses can get information on all UK limited companies sent direct to their mobile phone, anywhere in the world.
The service is quick and easy to use, making it ideal for smaller businesses that are often most at risk from bad debt and fraud.
Phil Smith, managing director of creditgate.com explains, “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Equifax, as it will ensure our customers benefit from the most accurate and up to date commercial credit information available. Creditgate.com’s services are designed to help businesses minimise risk and operate best practice. Through our partnership with Equifax we can offer business credit and company director reports as well as a monitoring service”.
“Now businesses can check the identity of customers quickly and easily, to help protect themselves from fraud and money laundering. Using our business credit reports, SMEs can assess the financial standing of potential customers and manage risk and avoid bad debt”.
Shannon concludes, “We look forward to working closely with creditgate.com to help maximise new business opportunities and develop the range of services it provides its customers. This is part of Equifax’s ongoing commitment to empower businesses through access to quality data, minimising risk and closing the net on fraud.”
