EQUIFAX FIRST TO LOAD 2003 ELECTORAL ROLL
Vital Electoral Roll information already available from Equifax Source
London, February 10, 2004 - Equifax, a leading global information provider, reports that it has already loaded the 2003 Electoral Roll information onto its databases, making it Equifax's fastest loaded Electoral Roll information ever. In providing vital information for the credit granting process as well as for fraud prevention, Electoral Roll information needs to be loaded as quickly as possible onto the Credit Reference Agencies databases. In addition, Equifax can provide direct marketers with access to the very latest Edited Electoral Roll information, enabling them effectively target prospects and gain a competitive advantage.
Michael Shannon, managing directorof Equifax Europe comments: "This is the first year that Equifax has been able to process all submissions from the councils electronically and in just 10 weeks we have fully loaded the records on to our database - rather than six months when the submission was paper based.
"A specialised team within Equifax comes together every year to process the Electoral Roll data, where quality as well as speed is critical. This year, some 40 staff have been involved, across Equifax, in contacting councils, sending out cheques, receiving input and in processing and reviewing the vast amounts of data.
"Entry on The Electoral Roll is an important part of the credit granting process and maintaining the quality of the data is a high priority for Equifax. We could not do this without the support and cooperation of all the staff at the councils and our own core team of dedicated experts. With all the data captured, we can now concentrate on handling changes from 397 councils every month for our Rolling Register - bringing our customers the most up-to-date and accurate Electoral Roll information."
