Contract Win for Equifax Commercial Information Services

London, May 25 2004 – Equifax Ltd announces a new contract win for its Commercial Information Services Division. Under a two-year contract with Wolseley UK, Equifax will provide the construction supply company with its Equifax Portfolio Monitoring Platinum Service. Using this web-based service, Wolseley UK will be able to not only credit check their new business customers but also monitor any changes that may affect the financial standing of their existing customers – and all for a competitive fixed fee.

Wolseley UK sits at the heart of the construction supply chain, providing the widest range of construction products and materials available in the UK through over 1,400 branches of Plumb Centre, Build Centre, Pipe Centre, Drain Centre, Climate Centre, Hire Centre and Parts Centre. The company is unique in terms of the range of its customer base - from the self-employed to the governments and multi-national businesses - and the vast scale of its supply chain operation. The vetting and monitoring of business customer accounts it vital to its financial success.

The Equifax Portfolio Monitoring Service provides a cost effective and easy-to-use method for businesses to protect themselves from the risk of bad debt. An online service, the system can be used to credit check new customers on account opening and can be tailored to the individual needs of the business, monitoring only those areas of the financial information that are important to it. In addition, by providing a snapshot of the information required, it removes the need to spend time analysing detailed reports.
