New Strategic Team Created to Address Credit and Debt Challenges Facing Telecommunications Industry
London, 30th March 2006 - Leading credit reference agency and fraud prevention service provider, Equifax, has introduced a Strategic Team focused on the Telecommunications industry. Created in direct response to the ongoing significance of this sector in the UK economy, the Equifax Telecommunications Strategic Team will be led by Nic Beishon, Client Sales Director, who has been with Equifax for more than 7 years.
The Telecommunications industry both landline and mobile has gone through enormous change in the last few years, confirmed Nic Beishon. With retail revenues from all telecoms services in the 12 months to 30 September 2005 growing by 6% year on year to £37.2 billion*, there is no doubt that this market makes an enormous contribution to the UK economy. However, as it has grown and become more and more competitive, the inherent risks have increased. Bad debt is a particular issue, as is fraud. And, of course, customer acquisition and retention are major challenges with very high levels of churn experienced by the main players.
With considerable hands-on experience in the sector, working with the majority of leading Telecommunications companies, Equifax has developed a range of credit and debt management solutions and ID verification and fraud prevention tools tailored to the needs and customer profile of the industry. The expertise of the Equifax Predictive Sciences team has also been utilized to carry out detailed analysis of data specific to the Telecommunications industry to refine and enhance customer acquisition and retention strategies.
The Equifax Telecommunications Strategic Team comprises nine specialist personnel who, in combination, bring more than 100 years experience in both the Telecommunications industry and the credit and marketing sectors. They include sales and account managers, data analysts and product specialists.
