EQUIFAX IS AWARDED OFFICE OF GOVERNMENT COMMERCE CONTRACT

London 9th January 2007 – Leading business credit and financial information provider, Equifax, has entered into an agreement with the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) for a framework contract to provide access to business financial reports for public sector procurers. Under the new agreement, Equifax will operate the framework contract for three years with an option to extend for one year.

The OGC recognises the importance of procurement in delivering high-quality public services and value for money. Under the agreement, public sector purchasers will be offered a choice of two reports, which provide fast, efficient and cost effective access to information and analysis. This will enable purchasers to make a detailed assessment of the credit worthiness and financial stability of prospective suppliers, and will facilitate informed and confident procurement decisions.

“We are delighted that the OGC has chosen Equifax to offer this facility to public sector purchasers.” comments Neil Munroe, External Affairs Director at Equifax. “Our agreement with OGC offers an enhanced level of buying protection for the public sector and reinforces the value of Equifax’s data in offering a detailed insight into the financial status of businesses across all industry sectors.”
