Equifax names new Chief Information Security Officer for Europe
Equifax, leading global data, analytics, and technology company, is announcing the appointment of Phillip Davies, as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Europe.
Phillip brings almost two decades of IT and security experience with him, including a number of years spent in the insurance, finance, broadcasting and telecommunications sectors. He joins Equifax from a role as Global CISO for Planet Payment, where he established and managed the security division.
Phillip’s sector knowledge deepened during a 16-year tenure at Sky, where he held the position of Group Head and Director, overseeing cyber security and advising on security trends and emerging threats.
Phillip Davies, Chief Information Security Officer for Europe at Equifax, said: “It's an exciting time to join Equifax, a company delivering critical financial information to businesses and consumers during an intensely challenging time for the economy. The pandemic, the cost of living crisis and geopolitical tensions have all raised the temperature for data protection and it is a top concern for boards across the country. I look forward to joining the team that has pioneered a blueprint for addressing these challenges and which continues to champion best practice in our sector.”
Patricio Remón, President for Europe at Equifax, said: “As the latest addition to Equifax’s senior leadership team, Phillip will play an important role in the future of the company. Equifax believes more communication, more collaboration, and more transparency equals stronger security. Phillip’s experience advising boards on operational risks and crises will be critical in both now, and in future, partnerships as part of Equifax's ongoing efforts to strengthen and protect the company, and all those who rely on us, to protect against cyber risks.”
